What Is Intelligence?
A Bodybyloud! Definition of Intelligence and Elevation
By Bodybyloud! Vint
Introduction: Why Intelligence Must Be Redefined for Elevation
The question, “What is intelligence?” is important and powerful in defining the ideas related to elevation. Most people accept definitions that have already been given to them. They inherit meaning without questioning its usefulness in their own lives. But for me, that approach does not work. I define ideas for myself because I am the one who will benefit or experience setbacks according to my understanding.
If you misunderstand what you are doing, or what you are using to do what you wish to do, then you really cannot know what you are doing. That lack of clarity creates confusion, and confusion prevents elevation. Because of that, I choose to self-define words according to their purpose in my mission.
The word intelligence has a purpose beyond its dictionary definition. It is not just about IQ, academic ability, or how much information a person can retain. Intelligence is something more functional. It is something that should actively improve the quality of life.
I define intelligence as a knowing or understanding of “what is” that enables one to make decisions that make life or living more enjoyable and less stressful.
This definition shifts intelligence from something abstract into something practical. It becomes a tool. It becomes something that can be used in real time, in real situations, for real results.
We use intelligence in everything we do. Whether we realize it or not, every decision, every reaction, and every direction we take is influenced by our level of understanding. Our minds are naturally geared to use intelligence, but the question is whether we are using it consciously or unconsciously.
Intelligence and Elevation: The Bodybyloud! Framework
So what is the meaning of intelligence in relation to elevation?
Elevation to Bodybyloud! is growth in a particular direction or dimension. It is not just about moving forward. It is about moving upward in awareness, capability, and experience. Elevation is intentional growth. It is growth guided by understanding.
Without intelligence, elevation becomes random. A person may grow in one area while declining in another. They may gain success but lose peace. They may gain knowledge but lack application.
With intelligence, elevation becomes structured. It becomes aligned. It becomes something that can be directed.
Intelligence is the mechanism that allows elevation to occur with purpose.
When you understand what is happening, you can decide how to respond. When you decide how to respond, you begin to shape your life experience. When you shape your life experience intentionally, you are elevating.
This is the connection.
Intelligence is not separate from elevation. It is one of the primary tools that makes elevation possible.
The Dimensions of Intelligence: More Than One Way to Elevate
Intelligence is not a single ability. It is a system made up of multiple dynamics that work together. These dynamics may appear separate, but they are interconnected. They support each other.
Some of these dynamics include mental intelligence, emotional intelligence, fitness and health intelligence, professional intelligence, financial intelligence, and mechanical intelligence.
Each of these can be broken down further into sub-intelligences. But in this discussion, I will focus on three foundational ones that directly impact everyday living and elevation:
-
Mental Intelligence
-
Emotional Intelligence
-
Fitness and Health Intelligence
These three form a core system. They influence how you think, how you feel, and how you function physically. Together, they shape your daily experience.
Mental Intelligence: Understanding Reality Clearly
Mental intelligence is the ability to think clearly, process information, analyze situations, and make decisions based on understanding.
It is not just about being “smart.” It is about being clear.
Clarity is one of the most powerful tools for elevation. When you can see situations for what they are, without distortion, you are able to move more effectively.
Mental intelligence allows you to interpret reality accurately. It reduces confusion. It reduces unnecessary stress. It allows you to focus on what matters.
Without mental intelligence, a person may react impulsively. They may misinterpret situations. They may make decisions that lead to unnecessary setbacks.
With mental intelligence, a person becomes more intentional.
Mental Intelligence in Decision Making
Every day, we are making decisions. Some are small and routine, while others carry long-term consequences. Mental intelligence allows a person to pause and examine options before acting.
For example, when presented with a new opportunity, a person with mental intelligence does not just react emotionally. They analyze. They consider alignment with their goals. They weigh potential outcomes.
They ask themselves questions that create clarity.
This ability to pause and think creates a space between impulse and action. That space is where elevation begins.
When decisions are made with understanding, life becomes more stable and more aligned with purpose.
Mental Intelligence in Problem Solving
Problems are a natural part of life. They are not interruptions to life. They are part of the structure of life.
Mental intelligence allows a person to break problems down into manageable parts. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, they begin to organize the situation.
For example, when facing financial difficulty, a person using mental intelligence will not just feel stress. They will begin to analyze their situation. They will identify patterns. They will look for solutions.
They turn a problem into a process.
That process creates movement. Movement creates progress. Progress creates elevation.
Mental Intelligence in Learning and Adaptation
Life is constantly teaching. Every experience contains information. But intelligence determines whether that information is understood and used.
Mental intelligence allows a person to reflect on experiences and extract lessons.
Instead of repeating mistakes, they adapt. Instead of staying stuck, they grow.
Adaptation is one of the clearest signs of elevation. It shows that a person is not just experiencing life, but learning from it.
Emotional Intelligence: Understanding Yourself and Others
If mental intelligence helps us understand situations, emotional intelligence helps us understand ourselves.
Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize, understand, and manage emotions in a productive way.
Emotions are powerful. They influence behavior, decision-making, and relationships. When emotions are not understood, they can create confusion and conflict.
When emotions are understood, they become valuable sources of information.
Emotional intelligence allows a person to respond rather than react. This distinction is important.
A reaction is automatic. A response is intentional.
Elevation requires intentionality.
Emotional Intelligence in Managing Stress
Stress is a common part of life. But how we respond to stress determines its impact.
Emotional intelligence allows a person to recognize stress early. They become aware of their internal state.
Instead of allowing stress to build and overflow, they address it.
They may step back. They may adjust their approach. They may communicate their concerns.
This awareness reduces the intensity of stress. It makes life more manageable.
And again, this aligns with my definition of intelligence: making life more enjoyable and less stressful.
Emotional Intelligence in Communication
Communication is one of the most important areas where emotional intelligence is expressed.
Many conflicts are not caused by the situation itself, but by how people interpret and respond to it.
Emotional intelligence allows a person to listen with understanding. It allows them to communicate clearly without unnecessary escalation.
They become aware of their tone, their words, and their emotional state.
This creates better relationships.
Better relationships create a better life experience.
Emotional Intelligence in Self-Awareness
Self-awareness is one of the highest forms of intelligence.
It is the ability to observe yourself honestly.
Emotional intelligence allows a person to recognize patterns in their behavior, reactions, and motivations.
They begin to understand themselves on a deeper level.
This understanding creates the opportunity for growth.
Without awareness, change is difficult. With awareness, change becomes possible.
Fitness and Health Intelligence: Strengthening the Body for Elevation
Fitness and health intelligence is the understanding of how to maintain and improve physical well-being.
The body is the vehicle through which we experience life. If the body is not functioning properly, everything becomes more difficult.
Energy decreases. Focus decreases. resilience decreases.
Fitness and health intelligence ensures that the body supports elevation rather than limiting it.
Fitness Intelligence in Nutrition
What we consume affects how we feel, think, and perform.
Fitness intelligence involves understanding how nutrition impacts the body.
A person with this intelligence becomes aware of patterns. They notice how certain foods affect energy, focus, and mood.
They begin to make intentional choices.
Instead of eating randomly, they eat with purpose.
That purpose supports both physical and mental performance.
Fitness Intelligence in Movement
Movement is essential for maintaining strength and energy.
Fitness intelligence recognizes the importance of consistent physical activity.
This does not mean extreme workouts or unrealistic routines. It means intentional movement.
Walking, training, stretching—these are all forms of maintaining the body.
A body that moves well supports a life that moves well.
Fitness Intelligence in Recovery
Rest is just as important as activity.
Fitness intelligence includes understanding the need for recovery.
Sleep, relaxation, and downtime are not signs of weakness. They are part of the process.
Recovery allows the body to rebuild and strengthen.
Without recovery, progress is limited.
The Integration of Intelligence: How It All Works Together
Mental intelligence, emotional intelligence, and fitness intelligence are not separate systems.
They work together.
Your mental clarity affects your emotional state. Your emotional state affects your physical health. Your physical health affects your mental performance.
When all three are aligned, life becomes more balanced.
Balance supports elevation.
When one area is neglected, it can impact the others.
That is why intelligence must be developed holistically.
Intelligence as a Daily Practice
Intelligence is not something you either have or do not have. It is something you practice.
Every day presents opportunities to use intelligence.
Every decision, every interaction, every challenge is a chance to apply understanding.
The more consciously you use intelligence, the more naturally it becomes part of your life.
And the more it becomes part of your life, the more your life begins to change.
Elevation Through Applied Intelligence
Elevation is not automatic. It is intentional.
It requires awareness. It requires decision-making. It requires action.
Intelligence provides all three.
When intelligence is applied, life becomes less about reacting and more about directing.
You begin to shape your experience instead of being shaped by it.
That is elevation.
Conclusion: Intelligence as the Foundation of a Better Life
The question, “What is intelligence?” is not just philosophical. It is practical.
For me, intelligence is about understanding reality well enough to make decisions that lead to a more enjoyable and less stressful life.
It is about using awareness to guide action.
It is about creating alignment between thought, emotion, and behavior.
At Bodybyloud!, elevation is growth in direction and dimension.
Intelligence is one of the most powerful tools we have to achieve that growth.
And when intelligence is used consistently and intentionally, life becomes more than just something we go through.
It becomes something we build.
It becomes something we elevate.
