What’s up everybody or as I usually say what it beez like I am gonna do a short
podcast here about Elevatin’ with The GetRight Spot and the Love
Algorithm been doing some testing of some things far as marketing and first
and foremost I need to say this I don’t know shit about marketing like far as
the technical aspect of it and doing it online and I think a lot of other people
are the same way they just don’t know exactly what to do and how to do it and
everyone wants to show you how to do it and actually to pay them but most of the
time you can’t see the results they say they are
Getting far as like what’s the results for sure your ability to teach and
Do what you say you’re gonna teach that you’re doing so I
Be upfront about it. I don’t know. I don’t know. I know what I want to happen and
I can investigate the tools that are available
Far as making it happen and I’m just like my main thing is I want to you know, like everyone else want to blow something up
Well, I want to blow my website up. I want traffic. I won’t involve traffic. I want people to do what
They can do on the site. So with the get-right spot
Marketing it is
primarily
Finding people who want to do what it’s offering. So
The exposure to people is
Important you got to bring traffic to your site to your music to your
Mix so whatever you got going on to your event
You want to bring traffic to at least the knowledge about you? I mean
you want to bring traffic to
You want to get people to know who you are and what you tried to do and that’s what
Marketing pretty much should be about
and
With me, I want to be as straightforward with it as I can be
Well, anyway
About a week or two ago. I decided okay. I’m gonna do a test. I’m gonna see if I can
Bring traffic to my site and at the same time help music artists with a song that I really like
so the song is called
The return and it’s by Earl W. Green. He’s a South African
house music vocalist
Singer artist producer, I think
So I picked this song to be the one that I test my marketing
One marketing technique. I decided to
use Facebook to send traffic to this song, which has a music showcase post on the Get
Right spot. So this music showcase post features everything you want to know about this artist.
This artist has a couple of songs that I like, but the one right now is called The Return.
It’s a nice groovy house music song. So I use Facebook, made a post that sends people to
that post on the Get Right spot. I want to see if the traffic that went there
responded. I want to see if the artist got some feedback from the people who went to the track,
and I want to see what they call it, different referrals, like where all the traffic has come
on. So I knew all the traffic was supposed to come from Facebook, but what they did after that,
I was trying to see what happened in there. Now, from what I could see, Facebook presented the
music to, I think I targeted for people who like house music and R&B, because it’s a house music
R&B type song. So it sent traffic to the to the post, not as much as I thought, you know, I paid
about 70 bucks, and you know, this me invested my money into seeing if I can get someone else
some shine. So it’s a test, it’s an experiment, and it’s a test on Facebook. Now, these these
prevailing platforms, as I call them,
They really don’t want to send you away from their website.
So you got to pay for them to come to you through them.
Which, you know, that’s the way it is.
But what I found out is, the traffic that they easily
give you is not necessarily useful traffic.
Like, you can be set on worldwide.
Yeah, you want the worldwide everyone to come and check out music.
But it seems to me that if you’re an American
and then you seem American pop, R&B, hip hop,
The vast consumers are going to be people
who use them streaming sites.
I don’t know what worldwide, other countries,
what their percentage of streaming they do
with Spotify and Apple Music.
But I imagine it’s probably lower than in America.
But I noticed that the primary traffic I got was from Africa.
Not Africans.
They prefer far as I know.
Well, give me the wrong, far as I know.
They prefer to download the music and listen to it.
They prefer that.
And I guess streaming is expensive,
especially if you’re dealing with American prices
and over there with a currency of such a wide range
and far as value and whatnot.
So I can understand why they don’t
want to use up a lot of their bandwidth and money trying
to stream music, download it, and listen to it,
and share it that way.
with Facebook sending people to the to the site, it was a bunch of traffic that was not going to
add streaming value to the artist mostly. You know, and besides that, I didn’t get the interaction
on the post that I was expecting. Maybe that might be me. Maybe the post wasn’t written the way
it could have drawn more attention. You know, it had a video on it. It had a couple of streaming
sites and links to the artist’s profile and everything. But far as I could tell, the artists
who I reached out to,
LW green I don’t know or I can’t tell whether he knew what I was doing
Even I even posted it on one of the posts has anyone been able to contact
LW green
Can’t tell to this day if he knew I was sending traffic to his song or not like so it’s kind of
I’m still up in undecided about the value of
Trying to you know, um drive traffic from
Facebook itself when it comes to
Marketing music. I’m I don’t see where
If you send money if you send traffic directly to some music
I like the song I think in my wife likes the song. I think it’s a pretty good song. I can’t tell where
enough people got traffic to the song
To make an impact on raising its level of awareness to everyone else
Now is that by design?
possibly
You know, they you know these these sites they really don’t want to pull you away from
The ads that they trying to put in your feed. So I understand
But the thing about the get right spot
I want it to be a marketing platform. So
I want people to be found there. That’s why the the logo
Well, not the logo. I’m still working on that but they are slogan is um
It’s probably going to be is the spot you want to be found in something to that effect
Where you want to be found because I know people who are out there doing they think they want to be found, you know
Everyone wants to be found and you want to be found where you could be easily
shared
And easy you can grow. I don’t see where you can grow on these platforms. You could pay to grow
But it’s almost better if you pull people into their platform
and you need some popularity already, you know.
Most of us are doing great on those platforms already big.
But if you’re trying to bring some tension
to yourself through the platform, it’s mighty difficult.
So a new strategy, a different strategy has to be put into place to cause
the elevation of the independent.
content creator, the independent music artist, the independent DJ who’s not
affiliated with a major marketing company. It’s gonna take some some
ingenuity for us, I can see. It’s gonna take some teamwork. It’s gonna take
people working together to bring attention to a site I’m thinking like
mine that wants everyone to flourish in and getting the word out. Your
music might suck, your content might suck, what you’re doing might not be
where it should be. Everyone starts from somewhere, but at least you want the
ability to be seen and heard, without being hidden and throttled down and
whatnot. And you know, subjected to a platform’s design that is not really
interested in accomplishing what you want to accomplish. So far as I can tell,
Facebook ain’t doing me a whole lot.
And if I’m marketing for someone else, it ain’t really doing them a whole lot, you know what I’m saying?
It’s just just the way it is, as far as I can see now.
If anyone out there has a technique that is working for them, let me know.
I’m at the Get Right spot on all platforms.
That’s X, Threads, Facebook, Facebook is GIS profiles.
whatever platform you can find to get right spot.
That’s me.
And let me know if you got a technique that’s working.
Let me know you got an idea that’s worthy.
But far as this Facebook experiment
with boosting a post,
I ain’t seeing the return on investment.
I think that’s the term.
I’m not seeing the return on investment
the way I would expect.
I mean, that’s just, that’s just where I’m seeing right now.
But I’m gonna post the results on the artist posts
that I created.
It’s the return by LW Green.
Look forward on the get right spot.
And I’m gonna repost the results of this experiment
probably along with this podcast in the next day or two.
And come by and tell me what you think.
Let’s talk about what might work.
Let’s see where we can.
make some adjustments, improve some things, you got to see what don’t work before you can get to
what does work. So this is just step one, I guess I’ll try, I’ll try doing some kind of
ex-boost or whatever they call it, where you add, put an add up, we’ll see how that does.
And thanks for listening, this has been elevating with the get right spot with the love algorithm.
Appreciate it.
